SectionsD

This file runs normally in /bin and collects the EPG Info from the Stream.

This file is also now used for the new "autoscan" feature. If this Feature is activated within the service scan the sectionsd automatically reads the stream coming via cable or sat and finds "new" stations.

This is a DVB Standard but it has only been added to neutrino within the last few months (01/2006).

If new stations are found the are written into a file called currentservices.xml and a message is given on the TV screen if there are new stations found.

You will requiere to restart the Box to enable neutrino to add this channels into the services.xml.

This feature is really usefull on a Satellite setup but can also be used on a cable setup.

If you get a message like "Reloading channel list" the automatic SectionsD scan is activated and collects new channels in the background.

You can turn this feature off or just turn the notification off. Please check here

(DBox Key->Service->Scan->Sectionsd Scan ON/ON No Message/OFF)

To guarantee that the currentservices.xml is used correctely by Neutrino and Neutrino has enough time to write it into the services.xml and also bouquets.xml you might need to modify the start_neutrino.

There is an entry:

i=15

and you might need to change it into i=99 or a larger ammount if you use more than 2 Satellites.

You can control the sectionsd behavior via Telnet or building your own Plugin
