Direct Recording:

(By Winker)

This Tutorial explains how you can record straight to your PC without using any 3rd Party Software and then again Playback these recordings on your Dbox via the Movieplayer / Moviebrowser

1. Create a new folder on your PC.

2. img_76

Make it shared and give it a simple name, such as tvrecord. Make sure the administrators have full access to the share.

3. You could the create a new user account with password on the pc, and put in the administrators group but I did not need to do this. On the PC, create a new local user.

Right click my computer, Manage, User & Groups, Expand User & Groups, right click Users, New User, Username = dbox2, Password = dbox2. Untick "User must change password at next logon".

Thats the pc end finished!

These settings are slightly general but all the sections mentioned should be in all images.

(New Images can change these settings via the YWeb Webinterface)

1. Setup the network settings for your network. [DBox Key]

Within the Misc Settings

use spts mode on (important!) This only works on newer Images and you will need Ucode 0014

Save your settings. All should be done.

You can now start recording, by presing blue button and red, and stop with same key sequence. Or use EPG, to select future recordings.

Movie Play Back

You can set the start dir for the movie player, but if it is a sub dir, you wil have to navigate to it the first time anyway, so not much point, as the last directory selected is used as the new default(only for playback, not recording).

Press [DBox] key and select Movie Player

Navigate to the mounted drive (mnt).

Select your recording.

Press OK.
