Install SFU on a NTFS Partition

I have added at the Bottom Photos of the installation Progress !!

custom installation: nfs->server, nfs authentification-> User Name Mapping+server

Get the Files /etc/passwd  and /etc/group (or /var/etc/passwd  /var/etc/group) via FTP from the DBox and copy them to C:\Program Files\SFU\etc

Within Admin-Tool (Start -> Programs -> Windows Services for UNIX -> Services for UNIX Administration)

under Server for NFS

a) within tab "Client Groups" create a group (example. "DBOX")

b) under "Advanced" in this group enter DBox IP

c) within tab "Server Settings":

-[X] enable TCP support

-[X] enable NFS v3

-[X] do not nenew authentification

-[X] case sens.

 

under "User Name Mapping"

a) select "Use Password and Group files" and choose the dBox-Files from ….\SFU\ETC

b) "Refresh interval to synchronize user and group names with User Name Mapping": example ."9999" ... "13" ... "39" and click "Synchornize Now"

c) within tab "Maps" under "Show User Maps" give one Windows User the rights for the Directories

Show User Maps: map the Windows-Administrator with dbox-root (with list windows- or unix-users )

Show Group Maps: map Administratoren with root

Server for NFS and User Name Mapping stop via right mouse click and restart both of them again.

 

The Installation of the NFS-Servers is now completed.

Now organise the access of directories on your PC:

Please select the Directory via Explorer right click on the Folder and choose "sharing and security" -> "nfs-share" and choose the new group:

- Share this folder

- Share name: !!!WITHOUT!! backslash example. movies

- [ ] Allow anonymous access

- under permissions "Add" now the group... then:

- set "Type of access" to RW

-leave Encoding set to ANSI

-[X] Allow root access

- Set the SHARE ALL MACHINES to no access.

PLEASE REMEMBER CAPITALS/LOWER CASE

Now on the DBox

 

dBox Settings -> Netzwork -> Mount:

-Type: NFS

-IP: of your PC’s

-Dir: movies

-Local: /var/mnt/movies or

-Local: /mnt/film depending on your Image

-Options1: rw,soft,udp

-Options2: nolock,rsize=32768,wsize=32768

-Mount

Please also set the SPTS mode to on as you can then just select the recorded movies via the Moviebrowser for a Playback via the DBox.

 

HINTS:

Restart Box after this
WindowsXP Please check that Administrator has a Password set and not just blank
Check Firewall for Ports 111,1039,1047,1048,2049
