Scan/Cables

•	The mystery of the files scan.conf and cables.xml or satellites.xml

The file scan.conf located in \var\tuxbox\config must include one of the Providers/Satellites listed in the Frequencys within cables.xml or satellites.xml located in \share\tuxbox\ or \var\tuxbox\config depending on the Image you are using.

When you change anything in the scan.conf you must unplug the power of your Dbox to apply the changes

•	I have had a random look through services files in different cable areas, and what I have concluded is the following

The most common symbol rate across cable networks are 6887 or 6952

They all use the same FEC =3

Transponder freq. step is always 8MHz (8000000)

Some providers use freq. shift 750kHz (750000)
