Choose Option 5 (Services) either via the Up or Down Key and or just press 5 on the

remote. Every other Function can also be selected via the coloured keys.

Via the O Button or the Up or Down Key you need to choose Service Scan.

I case you already had you stations sorted and just want to scan for new stations

select UPDATE EXISTING.

To actually scan for stations you first need to make a choice of the Provider.

Above picture is from a cable scan and there are different types.

These could be Kabel Deutschland or Bruteforce or whatever name you have given them in cables.xml and scan.conf.

Via the OK Key you can toogle between them.

In case of a satelitte Box you could choose the Sat you want to scan. See here more details for Sat scanning

There is no guideline which one to try first.

The box will, after you press O (Start Scan) or select it via the Up or Down Key and OK Key start to scan in the Transponders that are listed in your cables.xml or satellites.xml.

img_54

A good sign that you are picking up stations is if you see TV Program names and amounts of the Channels counting up.

If you fail with one Provider repeat the scan with the other.

A successful scan gets you back to the Service Scan menu and you can leave this

via the HOME Key.

EXTRAS:

On a Sat Box you can connect via a Diseqc multiple LNB's and receive more than 1 Sat via the DBox.

img_55

You can therefore choose that you have a diseqc installed and on what ports of it what satelitte is installed. You can then again scan all Satellites or just scan a single one.
